Get home from a long day at work, do a little channel surfing...and come upon the Bears - Cardinals game from 2006. This is also known as the "The Bears...are who we THOUGHT they were!" The how did the Cardinals, on the verge of the biggest upset of the year, gave up a 13 point lead with less than 6 minutes left. I'll spend the three hours just to get to Denny Green's meltdown - the greatest coach meltdown in hisory, for my money. But you don't have to wait that long...
A few post-scripts...
- Listen carefully and you can hear the voice of the reporter who asked the question to start this say "Thanks coach!" Pretty high on the unintentional comedy scale.
(Fairly unrelated note: Europeans always say good-bye when leaving the visitor center desk. Without fail. Most everyone says thanks, and/or nods their head, or similar - but only Euros, and every Euro, says god bye.)
- Check the PR guy's act, introducing the QB as the next person to the podium. Like Green had just given a happy and cheery interview.
- QB Matt Leinart, the next one to be interviewed, was offstage and had no clue what happened. He didn't learn about it until a few hours later.
OK, now I'm started...
I think the things I like the most about this one: Iverson and Mora are not violating the 180 degree rule: Mora's body is facing Iverson; Iverson's face is toward Mora. Kubrick couldn't have done it better...
Diddley poo. 'Nuff said.
Tell us again, Herm, why you play...?
